London is the epicentre of invigorating nightlife, but sometimes even the most hardened hedonists need a ruddy good reason to smooth out the permanent bottom print on the sofa and hotfoot it to a nightclub. Which is exactly why you need our gig-in-a-club night, Time Out On The Up. Want those reasons why? Oh, we’ve got them all right:

See future stars before anyone else
VV Brown, Drums of Death, Frankmusik and Dan Black have all come to plug in and play recently. And not that we like to blow our own honkers or anything, but Frankmusik has just been confirmed as the Pet Shop Boys’ main tour support. You’ll be hard pushed to find them playing in such intimate surroundings (and for free) again.

Because grime’s not dead
While dubstep’s wobblemania has eclipsed grime’s dark clatters of late, grime DJs Elijah and Skilliam, who are responsible for blog butterz, talkhole
grimeforum.com and online shop grimestore.com are going to show you exactly why it’s back and more banging than ever.

Spot some British Males
Testosterone-rific duo James Cowdery and Chris Power can be found lurking at the Lock Tavern or launch parties for bands like The Invisible, but we’ve dangled our meat in their direction and now they’re throwing down their boozy mix of French-to-Afro house, bastard pop, glitchy hip hop and disco treats all for you, you lucky people. And that’s not forgetting our very own resident males, The Beat! DJs. More info on British males here.

Because challenging your ears with new genres is fun
We provide the house party atmosphere you love but splice it with fresh new beats, from digital dancehall to fidget house. Storming production duo Thunderclaps are this time headlining the DJ assault, whipping up apocalyptic hip hop grime and dubstep bangers to tectonic-plate-shifting effect. They’re weighing in with MC Shameless to make the club jump. More info on Thunderclaps here.

Swot up on trendy bands
Of all the Crystal-ised bands around, raved-up folktronica types Crystal Fighters are by far the most dancetacular. Hailing from Navarre, Spain, the self-mythologising quintet do a deranged, psychedelic riot of eight-bit blippin’ Kuduro, soca and booty bass. They hit the decks to show just why Parisian label Kitsuné has picked them up.
