In the second of her two recitals this season, the pianist Angela Hewitt returns to JS Bach's 'The Art of Fugue', the composer's fascinating and intricate journeys in high-Baroque counterpoint. She follows this with Beethoven's penultimate Piano Sonata, Op 110 in A flat, in which Bach-influenced fugues meet the searching, philosophical world characteristic of Beethoven's late compositions.
