Using film and photography to revisit and reconstruct the past, the first major UK survey of this Irish artist highlights his interest in using history to help understand the present. WIth subjects as diverse as the Loch Ness monster and Samuel Beckett, Byrne's work is varied and humourous but resolutely human.
