Alba has been serving up contemporary Italian cooking on Whitecross Street since 1989. Its cooking also contains significant elements of French and Middle Eastern influence. The à la carte menu includes such dishes as linguine with globe artichokes, sun dried tomato, pesto and ricotta, pan-seared scallops, cauliflower purée and tomato vinaigrette, and brochette of lamb, merguez sausage, couscous, spiced aubergine and minted yoghurt. In addition, there are fixed two- and three-course menus (£18.50 and £23.50 respectively) and a strong wine list, with the emphasis on wines from Piedmont.
