The Armadeli that once supplied the diminutive Armadillo Café with organic ingredients for its sandwiches and salads has now been replaced by a dry-cleaner, but this local institution keeps on trucking, fuelling and fuelled by workers from the Heart FM offices next door. Sadly, the salads are now pre-packaged, but a range of made-to-order panini include innovative concoctions like brie, bacon and walnut, while a handful of hot daily specials cover the likes of curry, lasagne or chilli con carne, plus some interesting vegetarian alternatives. Orange juice is freshly squeezed and the fresh coffee remains some of the best in the area: strong and supremely smooth. There is extra seating downstairs and colourful metal tables outside in the summer months.
