A new 60-cover restaurant, from Italian chef Carmelo Carnivale, serving a seasonal Mediterranean menu with a focus on Sicilian ingredients and dishes. Expect to pay £40-£50 per head for three courses with wine. Opens October 2013.

Very nice welcome, good atmosphere and pleasant staff. Food was good - good value - £227 for 4 with wine and drinks to start . Will definately return
Great food and service but 50% of the £245.00 bill for 4 was the cost of 1 bottle of wine and two beers plus service - of course in the genial excitement of arriving and settling in no one thought to mentioned their 'recommended' Italian beer was £17.00 (that is seventeen pounds) a bottle and a middling bottle of 'recommended' white was £48.00. So charming, pleasant but £245.00 for four people for a quick supper was a little rich...... even with the sicilian smile
A beautiful, special restaurant - warm, friendly service and delicious, unpretensious Italian food. Prices are high, but this is due to the excellent quality food. This is not the place for a quick pizza with the kids, but a special evening with fantastic food and wine, and an intimate, lovely atmosphere.
This is just what the neighbourhood has needed for such a long time! An authentic Italian restaurant!! The all experience was so great that we have been twice already because we love it so much! The food is of very high standard without being pretentious! You could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the flavours really come through! We love the broad bean soup and the frittura with chickpeas pancakes. The couscous is simply delicious. My husband who is more of a meat eater loved the veal belly and the duck both cooked and flavoured perfectly! The prices are very reasonable for the standards and also for all the freebies that you receive (breads with olives, pates, cheese and sundried tomatoes and a palate cleanser before dessert)! I wish them all the success they deserve!!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Serata meravigliosa!!!! We took our friend out on the spur of the moment for her birthday, knowing little about Sicilian food we were about to discover some delightful and delicate dishes! The welcoming was warm and the service excellent all the way through! A little prosecco to open our taste buds, a variety of 5 different types of bread one of which, still warm, containing porcini mushrooms made by the chef Carmelo, all accompanied by the sweetest datterini semi-blushed tomatoes and local Sicilian extra vergin olive oil. The Burrata mozzarella melted like butter, and the rolls of aubergines with a super delicate tomato sauce were better than my mother's and she was a good cook!!! The fritturina of calamari butter based accompanied by lentils was quite new and equally delicious as the other starters. Our main courses were meat, rack of lamb and Fiorentina stake accompanied by spinach (most delicate ever tasted) and thin slices of zucchini in patella and fried. The Fiorentina was served on a platter with small diced roast potatoes and sliced aubergines some small datterini adorned the dish. We chose a Puglia wine Il Falcone 2007 vintage, deep red, velvety and round. After a little pause we were brought a small glass of lemon Spuma (foam) to prepare our mouth for the dessert. My panna cotta served on a delicate pulp of mango (I think) was soooo gooood, I did not taste the others, I was rather fool at this point. I want to thank Massimo who gave us a wonderful welcome, Francesca who explained her husband's recipes in a poetic Italian, Gianni who spoke of wines of Puglia in a irresistible way, you just had to follow his advise and the lovely girls and barman who contributed so much to an impromptu Birthday celebration for Vesna. Bravissimi tutti a Ballarò e grazie mille, we'll definitely come back!!!
