  • A mixed experience. We queued for 15 minutes with about a dozen other people on the stairs shown in the photo, which afforded us a good view of both floors, including 4 empty tables, one of which we were eventually seated at. Neither we nor the heavily pregnant lady in front of us received an apology for the unnecessary wait. Our orders were taken promptly and when the food arrived it was of a high standard, if you ignore the fact that the pancakes were stone cold and my eggs royale came on a plate so dirty you could tell what the last person had eaten. The coffee was outstanding. Next to us was an empty table for five which remained unused while the queue up the stairs continued to grow, and we were left wondering if this would be the last recommendation we take from Time Out.

  • Had breakfast a few days ago based on the reccomendations on this site. Food, coffee and other drinks were all execellent, as was the service. Not sure what would ever please some of the unimpressed people on this site. I travel all over the world for work reasons and and rarley come across better for breakfast.

  • Terrible service. Went there for a friends Hen do and thought this was the perfect place to start the day. Food wasn't great, waited a long time for a table. And to top it all off a waiter dropped orange juice all over me (bear in mind i was in these clothes for the rest of the day!) and my expensive bag! Ruined my friends Hen do and I'm still chasing compensation for my bag! Wouldn't go here again. (Covent Garden restaurant)

  • Bills is ok. The service is excellent. I chose scrambled eggs & salmon on toast. Eggs were a touch cold & my extra hot Latte was warm at best. The menu for breakfast is small. Very nice setting even if the chairs aren't the most comfortable.

  • Not impressed AT ALL. They refuse to make changes to their menu for dietary restrictions. What kind of restaurant that praises itself for having fresh food won't make a change for people with food allergies. VERY disappointing!

  • Visiting from sydney and couldn't find anywhere else in covent garden. Seriously average food. Host was nice and though the rest of the service staff were slow, he promptly replaced my served-cold chips with a fresh hot ones upon my request. Still, the supposedly gourmet hamburger was super greasy and i could have had a better equivalent meal at mcdonalds. Oh and when i requested the berry and banana smoothie without the berries, they apologised but all their smoothies were pre-made "fresh" (contradiction much) that morning with the berries already in them - they didn't think that it would have taken less time to make me a plain banana smoothie than explain this awfully dull fact. Cappuccino was bad-foamy and separated from the milk. Will not be returning.

  • Went to Covent Garden with two children. Good but not great food but appalling service. Despite table being vacated shortly after we arrived it took an age to be seated! Jamie's, next door, the previous night, was a much better deal, with staff much more attentive to the need to deal with children's needs quickly. Even the table next to us, four grown men, left after not receiving any service. It is a bit rich to add 12.5% gratuity when there is no service!

  • came for breakfast on our last visit to London and it certainly will be a regular haunt on our regular trips. We stayed in a hotel nr by that wanted £29 per head for english breakfast, so instead we stumbled on Bills by total chance, the 2 of us had a full english, french toast, 2 coffee's and a pot of tea all for under £30 - service was great - nothing fancy, nothing was too much trouble - nice music - food was more than acceptable, the portions were hearty and filled us up for most of the day - there is nothing to fault with Bill's other than there isnt one locally to us. if your looking for posh surrounding and white glove service then this isnt for you, but if you want good food, good service and a good atmosphere then give it a try you wont be dissapointed.
