  • Went for lunch on a Thursday afternoon with a family member. It had not long been open, and was joint with a high end hotel, so was expecting great things. When we walked in the entrance looked great. However when we walked up the stairs there was no one to greet us, so we had to wander over the bar and find a member of staff. When one was free we explained that we have reserved a table for 2 and the waitress went off and didn’t return. Along came gentlemen who asked if he has a reservation, we then said yes and he also went away. Another waited come up and asked if we had made a reservation and then got the manager to sort us out. However the manager was no help as he didn’t have a clue about reservations and didn’t seem interested that we had booked. He then walked away and we was left standing there waiting to be shown where we would be sitting. Along came the young waitress whom we first told we had reserved a table. (Bearing in mind this was about 6/7 minutes later just standing there wondering what to do?) She showed us to our reserved table and it was laid out lovey. Glasses were very clean and cutlery was beautiful. We knew what we wanted to order as we looked online so we ordered while the waitress asked for out drink order. We only ordered water as it was lunch time; however it come in a lovely jug and had ice which was great. We ordered the sharing finger platter and along with it came finger bowls to wash hands with, material napkins and a large tray filled with all the foods. On the platter there was ribs, chicken wings, fries, pulled pork and rolls, all the food was divine and very flavoursome. When we was finished eating, the plates were taken away sufficiently and 2 waiters helped to get it done quickly. However there was food left on the table that wasn’t wiped away. We ordered coffee as the table was being cleared and about 5 minutes later the waitress came back to clarify the order and got it wrong however she arrived with the correct drinks about 10/13 minutes after we ordered them. However she did not clear the food that was left on the table, so we were sitting drinking our coffee with some drying food on the table. The coffee however was delicious; it came up with brown and white sugar cubes and 2 biscuits. When we asked for the bill it arrived very promptly. It was the quickest service to arrive to the table. Overall the food was great. But service was poor considering the standard of the conjoined hotel and expectations. The service in Nando’s/TGI is better. Would only recommend for the food, Also if you’re not bothered about lengthy waiting time. Considering it was a lunch, our table was booked for 1pm and left at 12.10pm, so took 70mins for lunch and coffees that’s how slow and unorganised the service was.
