The most disappointing night, getting verbally abused by extremely unprofessional "security guards", was afraid to go outside for some fresh air (which you will need due to the lack of air-con). Food is overpriced and below average. I ordered a tuna steak salad which I rather regret, £12 I will never get back. Bouncers and staff alike unfriendly but good music.

This lively, contemporary bar-diner on the main Camden drag celebrates American musical heritage in song (live shows, DJs, free harmonica lessons), spirits and sustenance.
Dino Ribs is currently cooking cooking up - you guessed - ribs in the kitchen.
There are around 50 bourbons in a variety of categories, some used as bases for cocktails. Rarer types (Blanton’s Gold, Sazerac 18-Year-Old Rye, Woodford Reserve 1838 Sweet Mash) go for a tenner or more, but otherwise you’ll be paying £3.50 to £6. ‘America’s native spirit’ is how Kentucky bourbon is described, with Ancient Age and Evan Williams typical examples; Tennessee, ‘the first cousin of Kentucky’, is honoured with a full suit of Jack Daniel’s labels. Food stays in transatlantic character.
It’s all decked out with colourful impressions of legendary bluesmen – Blind Willie McTell, Skip James – with the occasional torn gig poster. Oh, to have been in Paris for that Leadbelly show…

Anyone who's had the hectic evening eating experience at the Blues Kitchen should consider going for lunch or brunch to experience it at its best - music nice and atmospheric but not loud enough to drown out conversation/cause ear strain, seated straightaway (we had booked a table for 2.30pm but arrived at 2 and were still able to go to our table and have drinks brought to us), food arrived in perfect time and staff very attentive and informative about the menu/venue. Just need to get there early on a weekend now to try the yummy breakfast/brunch options!
The bar is hopping with great live music on a nightly basis, great place to go for some drinks. The lunch menu has some good offers and the hot wings are some of the best in town! gotta get them. As someone has previously mentioned, it does get rather noisy in the evening so not the best place for a cosy meal. The service isn't great and if you come at the wrong time then there will be quite the wait for a table. But still a great vibrant bar/restaurant to visit!
This bar-diner host live music every night of the week and it draws a crowd in consistently. The weekends are particularly busy; I would recommend booking a table should you want dinner. And you should want dinner because the food is fab. It’s an American diner style kitchen with a great selection of burgers and barbeque foods. Fail proof. The menu is physically big enough to shelter a small family from a storm. The bar is small but has a cool vibe. It brings in a real mix. The dress code says “casual” but there is the usual Camden mix of converse's and platforms. The bar staff look like they would hang out here even if they weren't obliged. I wished maybe a few more of them were obliged to be here on this particular Friday evening because it sometimes felt impossible to get served. Though, this is to be expected in a busy London bar. Prices are on the higher side but again this is to be expected. The band went on around 10pm and the crowd were ready for them. The Blues Kitchen (outdoor neon sign now says 'Blues Bar') is a great place for excellent live music - in particular blues! A chilled crowd comes here to listen to some great sounds. I recommend the venue when you want a drink and listen to music. Not so much for dinner and conversations. Even though the food is pretty good - the music is way too loud to have a conversation over eating your tasty burger or ribs. If you do want to eat (and assuming you want to do so seated), book a table in advance!
The one thing that stops The Blues KItchen from being awesome, is the staff. Being sat at a table can take anything up to 10 minutes, could be longer but I gave up and approached the bar keep for a table. Getting your order taken...who knows, it may never happen. Whilst sat at an unreserved table, other tables have reservation signs on, I have been waiting over 15 minutes for my order to be taken, instead an unenthused waitress puts a reservation sign on the table, the table I am already sat on! This has happened here before. Last time I stood my ground as the girl admitted the reservation had just come in, how can a table be reserved when it is already occupied? The total lack of interest from the staff, not even lack of interest...I am an inconvenience, left me feeling snubbed by the 'cool kids'. No matter how good the food is, it can't make up for terrible service.

A fine stage area at the back lends itself to smaller bands showcasing their talents. The fact that the bar is elongated makes viewing somewhat tricky if they happen to be popular and you haven't barged your way to the front. The bar is fully stocked with traditional and new tipples and the staff seem competent even when busy. Food was good, and the place is obviously very popular, the dining area that you are faced with as you enter was fully reserved on the night we went. Drinks over-priced as standard. I'd go again if there was another a band on I wanted to see, but not just for a drink.
