This Fenwick restaurant comes from rhubarb – a high-end restaurant and catering group with venues across London and contracts at Goodwood and Ascot. This one does well with ladies-who-lunch, stopping by with bags already full or fuelling for another rake through the rails.
There's a notional nod to the location on the menu, with diners invited to 'fashion' their own meal (geddit?). Dishes range from celeriac velouté with mushrooms and pecorino brioche to steamed sea bream with galangal broth, bok choi and enoki mushrooms, the Bond & Brook tuna niçoise and a classic steak frites. 'Accessories' (sides) include skinny fries and flatbread with houmous.
Afternoon tea proves popular, with a 'luxury' version with Champagne alongside a more traditional offer.
