Still kicking myself for actually paying £6 for a stingy juice, which was 70% ice and a cup of black tea. Put me in a bad mood all day.

I visited Moka yesterday with a friend, having walked past and admired its cute exterior on the way to work, where I am a restaurant manager myself. We were warmly greeted by both waitresses, and quickly offered a coffee and snacks, even though the kitchen was no longer open. We ordered two flat whites and a slice of carrot cake, all of which were delicious. But the real knock-out here was definitely the staff, who were an absolute joy to be served by, with their chatty but not imposing attitude and sunny dispositions. One in particular, a 17-year old girl who was well beyond her years, shone out above the rest. When we enquired about a smoking area we were guided through to a serene garden area, and presented with blankets in case we were cold, which was an unexpected and very special touch. When out for dinner later (in a different venue) in the evening, we spotted our waitress walking past, and she even popped her head in the door to wish us an enjoyable evening. Cannot fault our experience here, and wish that all members of hospitality were as efficient and friendly as the staff of Moka.

Moka should be really good and we were so glad to have somewhere nice to go very locally but because the owners keep changing the opening hours you never know if it will be open or not. They closed for several weeks over the summer and then sometimes were open or not around that time - only way to find out was to chance it so went elsewhere. Today I wanted to go for dinner because they recently started doing evnings but now they are closed in the evenings for two weeks so I can't go. Even if you get in it is hard to get what you want as they are quite resiliant to serving you anythin but cake after lunchtime. Such a shame it is not more customer focused - any business has to have regular opening hours for the customers to be able to visit!

This place gets better and better. Now opens up in the evenings offering delicious share plates and a great wine list. Cant keep away!

Went there for a brunch with my girlfriend and it was cracking. Struggling to see why Time out only gave three stars to be honest!! I had the aforementioned bread and butter pudding and it was in a class of its own. Very special. So much so my girlfriend ignored her brownie and eat most of mine. This little parade of shops could be great and i hope this cafe sparks something in other owners! Lovely owners and lovely food. Well done and Thank you!!

Just lovely - delicious quiche. Bread and butter pudding is to die for! As good as anything on the Crouch End parade and in an area that desperately needs this kind of passion.

Such a nice cafe in a road with no other loveliness, they've done an amazing job, great food, and wonderful service, a gem!

Been there a few times that guy Kevin is a genius, the food is excellent, the best pasta I have eaten. the home made tart and the bread and butter pudding is a must.

Kevin, his Mum and colleague offer you a wonderfully warm welcome. The lavender shortcake is homemade and tastes gorgeous. The decor is very retro, New York-esque in inspiration. Relaxing, stylish and has a beautifully relaxing garden at the back. I agree with Michelle, so good to have a such a lovely new cafe addition to the area.

Michelle

Fantastic food and they really know how to make a good coffee. Finally a decent cafe in the area!!
