I have eaten from the Caribbean Scene in Stratford several times in the past and the food was OK, but after several months absence I returned today. The food was positively horrible, I ordered jerk chicken and oxtail and ended up throwing away the entire box after 2 mouthfuls, I don't know whether they have changed the chef  or the seasoning but as a Jamaican it was extremely disappointing. The oxtail had no taste apart from salt, it did not even taste like oxtail and the Jerk chicken appeared to be stewed with some sort of strange seasoning. I am very upset that I  wasted my money and will not be purchasing anything from Caribbean scene again unless the quality and taste of the food improves. I would definitely not recommend it as a place to eat. Save your money or go elsewhere!

This place is my local, i come here quite regularly. It's normally quiet but that's how i like it. It allows me time to talk to my family over a nice meal i didn't have to cook! Haha I don't normally cook but when i have to sometimes i just order takeaway from here & pretend i did it! The wife thinks I'm a chef! The staff have been quite bad in the past but as far as i know the new girls are really good. At least to me. Don't believe all the bad reviews, see for yourself.

Very Disappointed!!!

Don't waste time going! Service was terrible from the offset, it took more than 30 minutes to receive our drinks, after another 45 minutes and still no sign of food, we left. A second visit was the same experience. I wish I'd read the reviews first and saved myself the disappointment.

Shockingly bad service - we live locally and kept giving it another try, only to be disappointed again. Food forgotten, or never brought, up to half an hour wait for drinks, grumpy staff, who don't know the menu. The food itself is far inferior to the Caribbean food 50 yards away at the Theatre Royal bar.

Yes, Carribean Scene does have a lovely atmosphere but the food isn't the best quality. If you're coming for great Carribean Cuisine then you will be disappointed.
