‘Hidden gem’ is a much-abused term, but in the case of this old-school sushi bar, it’s completely appropriate. Accessed via a Korean-Japanese supermarket in the shadow of Centre Point, it deals in traditional dishes for salarymen, from made-to-order sushi to the selection of tempura or teriyaki. The set-price bento boxes are particularly popular with local office workers, who appreciate the tranquil atmosphere. Groups tend to head for the leather booths by the window, while solo diners and couples perch at the bar, watching the chefs at work.
