Chalk Farm Road is a busy intersection between Camden and the posher Primrose Hill end of town – and this little South American dining room along the way has an unpretentious, loungey vibe. Sofa-lovers will love the leather lounges, low-lit lamps and tiled floors – and Coco Bamboo has a live DJ spinning tunes every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night after 10pm. Hipsters, students and artsy locals alike love the friendly service and hearty Caribbean-influenced menu here, and favourites include the coconut prawns with a homemade chilli sauce; the Feijoada Brazilian black bean stew with pork, spices, rice and orange slices; and the jerk chicken wings in a sticky honey and coriander dressing.
