  • Ate here a couple of weeks ago. Sliders and pork ribs were excellent and worth going back for, but steak was tasteless and unevenly cooked ('rare' was well done in parts), which is pretty shocking at the price. Beer also ridiculously expensive, but very good. Service friendly, but not the most organised. Frankly, if you're going to charge this much, I would expect rather more.

  • Check out the beef ribs & trust the menu's suggestion of not smothering the meat in sauce- although you have to try a little! Brunch, dinner & drinks are great here: Check out the Beavertown 8ball- needs to be tasted to be believed! Don't tell too many people tho- it's hard enough to get a table..

  • Tried this for the first time last night and found it fantastic. I had the sliders, which were very good, but also was gifted a surplus pork rib from a friend, which was even better. The sides are also great (we had chips, spinach and okra: the okra was particularly tasty). Also really enjoyed the home brew. Unfortunately not on tap on the night we were there, but had a bottle of the Beavertown 8ball and it was delicious. I barely noticed the decor (other than a pram with moustachio'd baby, which I rather liked) - but the feel of the room was a nice mixture of bright and cosy even on a rather dank May evening. The service was excellent too: fast but friendly and attentive. However, we ate at 6.30pm on a Wednesday (they were fully booked at more normal times), so I can't speak for weekends and evenings. Will definitely be back.

  • loved the interior but the food was terrible :( ordered a burger and when it arrived it was so over-cooked that it literally fell apart and was full of gristle. Me and my boyfriend took one bite each of our burgers and then had to leave and buy lunch elsewhere. shame

  • Pickles and okra fritters:not a single pickle on sight in that dish. They replaced our order but without sauce, not much flavour. My burger was rare yet dry with a heavily meaty aftertaste. Pork ribs were too fatty and not cooked enough. Generally rather bland food, incl their sauces. Good coctails

  • 4 star rating what an absolute joke. Travelled from North London on the back of TO review. Burger had no, as in zero, seasoning - tasted of nothing. Ribs were the opposite. They weren't smoked, they were salted. No barbecue flavour. Appalling. Chips were lacking potato. Maccaroni cheese was over-cooked without any notable cheese. It was just a plate of mushy stodge. Beans tasted as if they had come from a tin. To give this the same rating as Pitt Cue is unbelievable. They are in no way comparable. £21 for the pleasure. Atmosphere was buzzy and perhaps the only thing of note. As a destination for food I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody and will struggle to have any faith in TO reviewing system from this point forward.

  • The beer is really great, the staff friendly and there's a good atmosphere. The food is fine, not mind-blowing but tasty, I went for the pulled pork sliders and chips and my friend had the burger. The sliders were a little on the cold side, and didn't pack much flavour, I would have liked some more spice coming through and the fried gherkin - which should be the highlight - was lost. My friend felt that the burger didn't match Meatliquor. The big problem came at the end of the meal, we'd booked an early friday reservation, and just as we were finishing off our food... we weren't being leisurely, our bill arrived... Not sure what they would have done if we had wanted dessert. Just as we finished our food... we still had drinks to finish we were asked to pay and move to the bar. This was fine, only as we waited at the bar, which is rather small, we saw that no one else was seated at our table. My friend placed her half full glass of cider on the bar for just one moment, and as she turned back to her drink we found that it had vanished... clearly thrown away. We felt so let down and deflated that we just left. It's certainly not as good as it could be.

  • Great food, wonderful service and awesome beers. The only star I take away is for slightly cold ribs, but I still ate em with vigour. Will be even better when they have their full range of their own beers too, the Rye IPA I am sure will be amazing.
