We have recently moved here from the north and were keen to find a friendly, welcoming restaurant. Three weeks ago we visited Emile's and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The food was excellent and service first class. Emile was very friendly and made us feel like a valued customer. Looking back, he approached us because he thought he knew us and, even though we said it was our first visit, he was so friendly. I do think a little personal service makes a huge difference. This evening we returned, feeling sure we wou.d have an equally enjoyable evening. Our waitress was lovely, very attentive. We were disappointed with the ambience. It was very noisy, one group of four being very annoying. Emile made a great effort to chat to those people he knew as regulars but absolutely ignored those who obviously did not fit that bill. This included us as we were blanked. All it takes is a few words to make a customer feel valued. I feel disappointed that we left feeling undervalued and will not be returning. A pity as the food is good and the staff very attentive but my husband and I both felt second class diners. We could have been long term regulars but will now dine elsewhere.

A local favourite, hidden away from the main streets of Putney on residential Felsham Road, Emiles is the epitome of the hidden restaurant gem. Refined and sophisticated but with a friendly, relaxed ambience Emiles plays host to a mix of guests typical of the local area – from hip young professionals to well-to-do families. The simplicity of the interior is complemented by Emiles’ unfussy but sleek European inspired menu – presented to each diner at their table on a large blackboard by the eternally polite and welcoming waiters. Changing seasonally the menu uses the very best of well sourced produce in sophisticated dishes with a distinct touch of French finesse.
