  • Twas a lovely sunny spring afternoon and I arranged to meet my lovely mum for a spot of lunch. We decided on Fat of the land as there were seats in the sun and the contemporarily gothic design draws you in. Among the incompetently cooked array of dishes we ordered, there was an almost raw undercooked poached egg, an very over-salted tapenade, and the full head of a rabbit staring at us from underneath a bed of onions & peppers (also flavourless). Plus it was slightly undercooked. Appreciating that this may not be an unusual occurrence in authentic tapas, when I politely pointed this monstrosity out to the waiter, he nonchalantly shrugged and said that some people enjoy it. He took it away anyway as it was clearly making half of Marylebone sick. Fortunately our original waiter then came over to apologise for not noticing it and offered to prepare the dish again. The replacement was completely undercooked but the gesture saved some face for an otherwise horrific dining experience. Following our table being cleared, we sat around for about half an hour before anybody came near our table again. The only saving grace was the decor. Hopefully it will remain long after the Fat of the land has gone. Go to this place if you enjoy bad service, bad attitudes, bland food and horror movies.

  • I saw a mouse running wild in this joint. When I told her, our waitress seemed unruffled, so I conclude that he must be a regular. The service was reluctant, the food average, and the ambience pretentious. In conclusion: avoid. Unless you like mice, that is.

  • Stylish decor and authentic tasty food at prices surprisingly fair for the west end. The pork paella is a revelation! Different but interesting tapas not just the usual suspects.

  • Nice atmosphere downstairs, farily bland food. Donostia and Providores in the neighbourhood are far superior tapas.

  • Great Patta Negra but then went downhill fast everything else dire, sent steak back twice, tough as old boots not even an apology waiter who shruged his shoulders and deducted from bill, one to avoid plenty of other great places around.

  • I've been a couple of times to this Catalan tapas bar and have loved it every time. The food has been consistently good, and the service is chirpy and efficient. I would certainly recommend it and it's a nice spot for after work drinks when you just want a small bite to eat. Thumbs Up!

  • The manager of this restaurant has no customer service skills whatsoever. I am astonished that he has any customers at all with the attitude he has. We will never visit again and will encourage our friends to do the same. This has been one of our worst culinary experiences.
