The bistro vibe of this simply furnished Muswell Hill institution with next-door deli-traiteur nods to its role as a restaurant open three nights a week (with live jazz on Fridays). As a café, it stands well back from the cutting edge. Most customers visit for its comfortable familiarity and full English breakfasts; on any weekday you’ll see a wide cross-section of the local community, from suited gents to pram-pushers, in attendance. Warm chicken and chorizo salad with baby potatoes, green beans and olives was the menu’s most creative option and, despite its excessive oiliness, was a punchy, satisfying combination. Penne with tomato sauce was workaday, as was the coffee. It’s nice to see such a wide choice of breakfast dishes offered throughout the day – maybe that’s why the cake selection is so limited. Service was no-nonsense and rather unsmiling on our visit, but this didn’t seem to perturb Feast’s many happy customers.

Not being too local we have been irregular visitors to the deli and cafe but always found it good value with excellent foods and friendly staff. On Friday, we had our first experience of the restaurants evening offering, the newly invested Jazz Evening. We had a fantastic time! Food was first class, service was attentive and just for good measure we found a wine that was exquisite - all to a background of subtle live jazz and ambient atmosphere. I would recommend this establishment in all its forms but particularly the Jazz Evening - the perfect way to start the weekend..... we shall return! Well done Feast.
Have enjoyed lunch here previously, great for kids, but had dinner there recently and was truely disappointed. The food was pretty substandard. There service was not too good either. Would recommend for a casual lunch with the kids but not for anything more. What a shame, lets hope it improves, as it has the ingredients to be great. We need a good restaurant in Muswell Hill!!!!
Deli was lovely, staff were fantastic considering how busy the place can be! Fresh bread and food each day and the best bagels ever. People should be more accepting of new staff, you wouldn't write a review about a learner driver. Keep up the good work
There wasn't enough foam on my capuccino! Only joking. From earlier reviews, I expected to be told loudly not to expect much. ... But my eggs benedict w salmon was fine - eggs perfectly poached; friend's Full English was tasty and a large portion. Service was uniformly efficient and courteous, even including laughing at a pepper grinder gag. Place pleasant: bustle-y and just full.
Good reasonable priced food. Have visited twice for evening meals in last six months. The haddock is great and steak also very good. Friendly attentive service. If you are looking for a break from the identikit italian chains which infest Muswell Hill, I recommend that you try feast.
