The café part of this café/deli operation is a popular haunt for locals and packs out at lunchtime with diners reeled in by the £7.95 special deal. This buys a drink and a dish, such as hearty meat lasagne in a sea of tomato sauce or fish cake with salad. (Busier locals can opt to have it delivered.) The space, with its Farrow & Ball walls, bentwood chairs and wooden tables, is light and appealing, but, thanks to poor acoustics, not great for an intimate chat. Prices are reasonable, portions are large and service is warm and friendly.
The menu of burgers, panini and all-day breakfasts – from full fry-ups to eggs benedict and muesli – is supplemented by items from the deli next door – the soup, tarts (a choice of three) and meat and vegetable lasagne. Later on, Feast segues into an evening venue, when tablecloths and a more upmarket menu appear, though the good value remains: £11.95 for two courses.
