I Knit London
Take your ball of yarn down to Waterloo for this new knitting evening, which combines cake eating, beer drinking, record spinning, live singing and more, all while knocking up a pair of socks for your nephew/father/uncle. The fabulous four-piece Shellac Sisters guest, bringing their vintage frocks, wind-up gramophone and 78s along for the party.
Diary date Dec 3, 6.30pm-12.30am, free.

Stitch & Bitch London
‘Knit fast, purl young’ is the motto of this London-based knitting group intent on taking over the world, one new knitter at a time. It’s a broad church (they welcome anyone, old or young) and a remarkably friendly one too, despite the name. The group’s current project is knitting a charity scarf for a Trafalgar Square lion – sounds a tad tricky, but beginners will be taught as long as they turn up with needles, yarn and bundles of energy. Meet-ups take place in pubs, cafés and parks.
Diary date Wed 22 and Nov 30, from 6.30pm, free.
