    • Song Que

      134 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, E2 8DY

    • Mien Tay

      122 Kingsland Rd, Shoreditch, E2 8DP

The kitchen shows real flair, serving fresh, no frills and flavoursome southern Vietnamese dishes to the seasoned diners of Kingsland Road. All that we’ve tried have thrilled – crisp and jam-packed spring rolls; soothing pho dac biet (noodle soup with all the beef trimmings); spatchcocked quail with aromatic spices. Meal for two with drinks and service: around £30. BYO no charge. Read more

    • Pho

Specialising in Vietnam’s national dish, Pho is a welcome addition to the dining scene in Central London. Large bowls of noodle soup are accompanied by fresh herbs (mint, sawtooth, sweet basil). The spicy bun bo hue from northern Vietnam packs a greater punch than its southern counterparts. I agree. But Pho should have got a much better rating that 2 stars. Its actually a wonderful place to eat and the food is delicious. I'd say 5 stars is more appropriate for food quality and value for money.

Bit bewildered why Pho would be listed under a 'best cheap eats' article when the review in the magazine only gives it 2 stars?
