    • Malletti Clerkenwell

    • Ooze

      62 Goodge Street, Fitzrovia, W1T 4NE

The Italians know how to do comfort food proper. As its name suggests, creamy risottos are Ooze’s unique selling point (though there are other options, from pasta to panini) and there’s flexibility in the menu – be it for budget- or weight-conscious diners. Half of the risotto options are available in ‘small’ portions which aren’t too tiny and delicious combinations include trevise, red onion and gorgonzola dolcelatte. Please include the lunch deal at Tentazioni in your cheap Italian eats section - in the evening this is a high - end restaurant - and well worth the money - but at lunchtime 3 delicious courses are a bargain £15.

Italia Uno on Charlotte Street is a great panini place--most of the sandwiches are under 3 pounds, there are so many italians there on football nights that the crowd spills over into the street, and the owners are really nice. Definitely a better bargain than these options!
