    • Frae

      27 Camden Passage, N1 8EA (0783 417 7926/www.frae.com). Angel tube

Still want your frozen fix in the cold weather? Frae has come up with a collection of ‘Winter Warmers’ including hot own-made apple crumble topping, fresh from the oven. All-organic ingredients and generous portions make it well worth breaking up your antiques hunt.

    • Itsu

      (7479 4790/www.itsu.com)

The frozen yogurt counters attached to this chain of oriental restaurants offer a variety of fruit, nut and granola toppings to promote your health and happiness. They’re served on relatively small and reasonably priced portions of yogurt, perfect for a light snack. Eighteen branches across London.

    • Moosh

      17 Jerdan Place, SQ6 1BE (7386 8688/www.mooshfruit.com). Fulham Broadway tube

Ambient music, a (fake) lemon tree and turf instead of carpet give a travellers’ café air to this relaxed yogurt, juice and smoothie bar. Try their fro-yo with a luscious chocolate brownie topping dripping in rich chocolate sauce.

    • Snog

      9 Brewer St, W1F 0RG (7494 3301), Piccadilly Circus tube. Branches: 32 Thurloe Place, SW7 2HQ & Westfield London, W12 7GF (www.ifancyasnog.com)

Sitting on fairy toadstools reading the exuberant slogans adorning the walls is half the fun of Snog’s eat-in charm. With toppings from healthy nuts to sinful hunks of chocolate brownie on top of unflavoured, green tea or chocolate yogurt, you certainly will fancy a Snog.

    • Yog

      43-45 Charlotte St, W1T 1RS (7580 7990/www.yogyogurt.com). Tottenham Court Rd tube. Branches: Brent Cross Shopping Centre, NW4 3FP (020 8202 8095).

Newest to this munch bunch is Yog. Claiming its probiotic credentials make it the perfect healthy yet sweet treat, Yog offers beautiful creamy yogurt, easily mistaken for ice cream.

    • Yuforia

Unit 19a The Market, The Piazza, WC2E 8RB (7240 5532). Covent Garden tube

Given the tart yet creamy yogurt, the queue to enter this beautifully decorated frozen yogurt shop is no surprise. The ‘Yuforia special’ flavour changes weekly, and usually comes with a hint of fruit, giving you the perfect excuse to go back and try the latest.

I've tried most of the above and my verdict is if you want the one which started this craze off, who are not chained stores and are the type to support local businesses then I'd recommend MILK INNIT ... only one i know of is in Clapham common, a tiny petite size store owned by 3 lovely ladies. It's got in my opinion the best taste, good toppings and even sell crepes and waffles and better priced than all the above!!! I went there 3 times in a day, admittedly it was a warm summer's day.

@Faye - not really. There have been rumours of PinkBerry opening a store in London, but no official location yet. Snog do lots of different flavours. It's quite a weird and wonderful store, but it's very cramped, and it doubles up as a coffee house, which makes it even more cramped. However, the price is not bad and you get a decent sized serving, although it does taste different.
Yuforia in Covent Garden barely sells much yoghurt anymore. It does more soup than yoghurt, and doesn't have as much choice. However, Yuforia has a beautiful decor, and I'd expect their other store, near Oxford Circus, is very nice. It has great toppings too.

I'm a massive fan of frozen yogurt and i have tried out many different stores. I think Yog is far too sweet, Snog is ok but i find it has a bean like taste which i cant swallow. My favourite place by far is a little store called shake and blend, there frozen yogurt tastes absolutely delicious and the best thing is that its not only fat free but sugar free as well. I would recommend them to any one who really appreciates good quality frozen yogurt,

BluCherry just next to Totteridge station always has a great choice of frozen yoghurt flavours and they do a wide randge of toppings! Great taste and great price!

I can't have ice cream because I'm lactose intolerant (yogurt ok, as lactose killed in yogurt developing process) so have become a bit of a devotee of such places.
My verdict: Snog the prettiest products with nicest topping, Yog the best yogurt, by a long way.

Yog is a TOTAL rip off of Snog... I mena even the name freaking rhymes....

Are there any frozen yogurt shops that have various flavours like they do in the US and not all tart original flavoured?

Have your say
