I agree, Alimentari is fab! I love their fresh Italian salami!
I must share with you an amazing Italian deli that you neglected to include on your list. Alimentari on Kilburn Lane (near Queen's Park tube). Authentic and stylish. They catered a Press Night for me for a play opening and I've since booked them for a dinner party with the girls. Not only was the food tremendous, but the presentation! Wow! Friends from the press night event were so impressed, they booked Alimentari for their New Years Eve party this year and another for a birthday party.
I live near Luigi's on Fulham Rd. and frequent it often. However, I make special trips across town to Queen's Park for Alimentari's lasagne! To me, that is the sign of an amazing food shop - when you make that extra effort to go somewhere, just for the shop. A hidden gem on Kilburn Lane.
You missed out an amazing Italian shop in Queens Park! 'Alimentari', 342 Kilburn Lane, is the pretties and best stocked Italian shop/deli in London. There's so many reason why this shop should have been included in your list. Friendly staff, the place is run by three lovely Italian ladies, fantastic range of quality products, fun events such as Italian wine tasting or Italian cooking evenings, makes Alimentari a must place to visit. So lucky to have this shop in my neighbourhood. I visit it as often as I can and so should anyone who is passionate about Italia food!
I'm so glad Gennaro's is on here. I've been going there for years and it truly is a special little gem in the SE crown. The sunblush tomatoes and anchovies are a must! Antonio who runs it is a true gent and you will always be greeted warmly and if you're ever stuck for recipes he's the man to go to. Coming up tp Christmas the place always looks like a treasure cave, bursting with tasty treats and panettones hanging from the rafters. If you're in the area definitely pay them a visit.
