Fox

The Fox is an after-work magnet on Thursdays and Fridays, and outside peak hours it’s a very pleasant place for a drink in somewhat calmer conditions.

Plus points include an attractive ground-floor room, modernised but not ruined, with a big central bar and etched-glass windows. There are snacks in the bar and a short menu of standard pub fare (grills featuring prominently) in the lovely first-floor restaurant. The wine list is well chosen and well priced, with a special section of wines from Bordeaux for those who are interested. A very useful place to know about in this restaurant-rich environment.
