  • i thought the food here was excellent and it was actually nice and quiet compared to most restaurants on a friday night. The little pasties were varied and tasty we had a few delicious tapas sized dishes to share and then a perfectly cooked steak each. This was plently to fill me up without making me feel overly full as a whole huge steak might. Also, when we were there on a friday evening we were served by two lovely people who were really helpful in answering our questions and gave great advice. My only gripe would be the wine prices, other than that i'd recommend it!

  • I had a lovely meal at Garufin. The service was really professional and friendly. The food was delicious and the small portions allowed us to try different things that we never tried before. I was really impressed with the meat that was cooked to perfection but I never tried any of the regional dishes and I am glad I did! We spent £40 each including a really nice bottle of Luigi Bosca Malbec that was recommended to us by the manager. Highly recommended!

  • The taste of the food was very nice but the portions were miniscule. In Argentina, they serve you proper quantities. What was on display here was stingy profiteering dressed up as pretentious, expensive fine dining. Added to that, the service was very poor. At lunchtime we waited 40 minutes for our food thanks to a mistake in the kitchen and then had to scarf it down to get back to work in time. Despite this we still had to ask for the large tip to be taken off the bill rather than for the staff to volunteer to do so or offer any gesture by way of compensation. The basics are there (the food) but everything else (the service, the tiny portion size, the price) is not. Avoid until the above is rectified.

  • The meal we had was over £70 a head (Tapas and a bottle of wine between two) and I was left very hungry. Small portions and to be honest, lacking in flavour. the steak which should have been the star of the show was over-cooked and the cheapest bottle of wine started at £40 and was pretty average. The service was beyond terrible. We were one of three tables on a mid-week night and it took them over a hour to take our order and even longer to take our money. The waitress was rude and we asked if we could pay as we had been waiting a while, she just shrugged her shoulders and walked in the other direction. I walked over to the bar to say we were unhappy in private and she wouldn't look at me. I asked her to remove the service and she refused. (still not looking at me). To be fair to her, she was left on her own at the end of the night, but no reason to be extremely rude and she really didn't have that much to deal with. I left £140 lighter, offended and hungry.

  • Had a lovely evening at Garufin. The service was exceptional: friendly, enthusiastic and the manager even gave us a free glass of desert wine! Food was both interesting and tasty. Beyond the obviously excellent steak, we tried some great meat dishes, including the best black pudding I have ever had. The food comes in smallish plates, but we enjoyed sharing and trying different things, and overall it's decent value overall. All in all, a fun and thoroughly enjoyable place to eat

  • What is this obsession the entire food world seems to have with pork and apple? I'm not seeing this so-called "happy marriage", and never have. Tastes bloody disgusting. I don't know why people think apple in any form goes with any kind of meat. Know what's even more disgusting? The way everyone behaves with pure disbelief when you say don't like it, or how, for some reason, nearly every European dish involving good pork these days is made with apple as an inextricable and integral part of it, leaving you no option to exclude the damn stuff. Sorry about the irrelevant rant, but it's something that really rubs my rhubarb.

  • I had an excellent lunch here today, the atmosphere is relaxed and fun and the service fantastic - really friendly genuine staff. And most importantly, the steak was exceptional, perfectly cooked and had some lovely side dishes and empanada. Highly recommended.

  • Lovely interior, lovely service, interesting menu but very poor value because terribly mean portions for the prices and food nowhere near good enough to justify. New so hopefully they'll change up prices/quantity.
