Greenwood

A ginormous joint opposite Victoria Station, that's a TV-filled sports lounge-cum-restaurant with pretty decent pub grub. Decor-wise, old books and hanging plants perch on dark wooden bookcases enclosed in a steel and glass atrium, as though someone had decided to open a library in a conference centre. There is a wall of bread bins and coffee mugs. An albatross is suspended in front of a neon sign. I honestly don’t know why.

A decent enough place for a drink, then, but perhaps not a destination worth devoting a full evening to. The crowd of suited post-work drinkers nipping off after a swift one certainly suggested as much.
