I completely agree with Ella B and wonder why there aren't enough reviews for Hanoi Cafe. A great little family owned Vietnamese cafe with authentic food. Especially the tilapia - a definite must-try on the menu, my preference is with chilli and lemongrass :) Really great food, for such affordable prices.
why are there no reviews for Hanoi Cafe? it has been around for years and is such a great little cafe. Great for a get together or a quiet noodle soup. quality food and not crazy prices.
I'm of Vietnamese origin and ate here 2 days ago. My friend and I both ordered the rare beef pho, and I was disapppointed to find the meat was in little pieces and quite scarce. Had to do a fair bit of fishing around in my bowl to find those elusive bits of beef! I suppose you can't expect too much for 5.40 GBP/bowl. As for the taste, it was decent, not excellent but satisfied my pho craving. Service quite poor though. It was 3PM in the middle of the day, well past the regular lunchtime, and we were the only 2 customers. The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful, in fact they looked bored out their minds and the waitress was in a hurry to get us out of the restaurant ASAP. Would only return if I was desperate.
