Dear Sirs, Tonight was without doubt one of the worst evenings I have ever spent in a restaurant! The setting outside is very inviting but when we arrived at the time of our reservation, 8.45pm,  a flustered waitress told us in no uncertain terms that they were overwhelmed and that we would have to wait a while. A lot of table moving and re-arranging of the decor followed whilst we were watching. That while stretched into some 20 minutes after which we were invited to make ourselves "comfortable" at a table without cutlery, glasses or napkins. And no attempt was made by anyone to dress the table. To follow, an even more panicky young man got the drinks wrong, the very greasy chiabatta bread took ages to arrive, still without napkins, after several reminders. We were looking forward to the advertised Wednesday Night Steak Night, only to be told at 9pm that all meat was sold out...At 9pm??? Our meal then took ages to arrive, with the sea bass indifferent (if indeed it was sea bass), the steak just tolerable with a very dried up Bearnaise sauce in a ramekin plonked on the plate. And what was advertised as chips turned out to be ugly looking potato wedges. The side dishes were served after we had all finished our meal and needless to say half were wrong... The bill took another 20 minutes to arrive and to top this catalogue of incompetence, all credit card machines had melted, so we were asked to get cash out of the machine in the wall to pay. Every member in our party was speechless at the chaos reigning all over. It seemed as if none of your staff have received any training whatsoever. I will never again set foot in your establishment and will recommend anyone who asks to avoid it like the plague. I am deeply disappointed to see that a Master Chef can let his public down in such a spectacular manner!

Sadly a one star I love Greg but the restaurant sadly does not follow his dream. The front house chap was less than interested and got the orders wrong. Then in an empty space he sat the next guests straight beside us???? And then followed again with the next ones that entered. We all felt uncomfortable. Sad reflection on Greg as I am sure he would hate to be reviewed like this! But get better staff!!!!!

We went to Greg's for breakfast on a Sunny Saturday and thought it would be nice to sit outside. We had to yell for a server to finally come to us and in the nicest way of saying it, she was incredibly incompetent. It took 30 minutes to get a latte (with two baristas) and after an hour waiting for the english breakfast, we asked if there was something wrong in the kitchen. The manager was very apologetic and gave us our meal for free, which we really appreciated; however, we couldn't help but notice that everyone around us was also irritated about the wait despite having only 3 customers to each member of staff. By restaurant terms, that's an extremely heavily staffed place. I wouldn't be too harsh on the food based on my experience, it was pricey but good. However, even after complaining, it took nearly two hours for us to simply have a breakfast. I'd hate to think how much life we'd have to give up for a full dinner.

Went here for my birthday on an early monday evening. Restaurant was literally empty apart from another table. Considering the restaurant was not busy my husbands meal came up warm. I had boiled beef and carrots and asked the waitress if this included vegetables which she replied yes. So assumed I did not have to order a side order. When my meal came I wanted to laugh as on my plate was one small boiled potato and one small turnip and two slices of beef which would not feed a mouse. My friend ordered Spam fitters. In fact it was not spam it was made from ham hock. The chips are supposed to be home made, but they looked more like Macdonald chips to me but a bit thicker. Will not be coming back to this restaurant again. Quality and quantity of food was not good value for the money.

What a disappointing birthday lunch .My friend decided to "treat " me to lunch at greggs table on sunday as she had previously eaten several times at alfies (the previous restaurant here) Firstly the barman was'nt aware that there was a sunday roast on offer .We had our starters which were ok , then my main of chicken kiev with dauphinoise potatoes came up , the potatoes were cold so I returned this , while I was waiting my friend went to give me a taste of her very eggy haddock souffle only to find a hair in the spinach !! we returned this declining the offer of a fresh plate . When my chicken kiev returned i cut into it only to discover a 2 inch piece of flabby chicken skin complete with feather stubs ... this was again returned .The manager was very apologetic and refunded both mains but we were very disappointed ,with such a high profile name above the door i expected much more . such basic errors are inexcusable .
