  • Fantastic for cappuccinos and devilish cakes. Even better, and a pleasant surprise - they've just started doing food in the evenings, sort of tapas style but really filling and super high quality - even better than the brunches they're known for. Definitely worth a visit!

  • The previous cafe, The Cupboard Cafe was my Saturday morning ritual; I would go alone with a newspaper and have a coffee and some breakfast. However, The Cupboard Cafe isn’t operating anymore - it has been replaced by a lovely and recently expanded Hummingbird Cafe. I still visit the cafe each Saturday but now I meet friends as it’s an experience that always needs to be shared with good company. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the yummiest breakfast! As a coffee lover I can say that Hummingbird Cafe has the best coffee in all of London - and infact all of Europe. The cafe is operated and staffed with Antipodeans who understand and clearly have a broad knowledge of food, wine and coffee. They have recently opened for dinner which I dined there recently for dinner and to no surprise I found the food and service once again to be utterly fantastic! It is a great and humble success!

  • Went there just to grab a coffee and cake late morning. First, we asked for soya milk with the coffee and it came to the table curdled, so we asked for it to be re-made and it came back exactly the same. Not appetising. When we said it's better to add warm soya instead of cold, we were told it's better to add cold than hot, then we were made to pay for it. I would have at least expected an apology, since no other coffee house saying they can use soya milk have presented rice pudding. I had a carrot cake and whilst it was very tasty, I bit on a sharp piece of...wood. Honestly, it could have cut a gum or chipped a tooth. I had no intention of getting a refund, I just simply wanted to tell them so that they be careful next time, in case it happens to someone else. Instead, the reaction was, "that's a piece of walnut shell...", then the lady walked away. First, there was again, no apology, which I'm sure every customer everywhere would have expected on some level. Second, walnut shell does not have a light coloured inner layer and much darker outer layer that peels off from the inner layer. That was tree bark. Seriously, an apology would have been given anywhere else and happily accepted. It's like they don't care, even if the advice is friendly. To us, the place epitomises the phrase "looks can be deceiving". Why would we ever go back?

  • Love this place - great coffee and lovely staff. Food's outstanding as is the coffee. And I'll happily pay service charge when it means you get better staff because they get more than minimum wage and they speak english! Tried dinner last week - delicious! Will be back!

  • Best coffee in the neighbourhood by a long way. Now serving dinner, though we ate it in an almost empty room. It was absolutely delicious. This is exactly the kind of local, quality eatery that should be supported! Hope to see more people there the next time we go in the evening. Weekend brunches get absolutley rammed.

  • Another little gem in the Bush. Super friendly staff, serving good coffee and excellent cakes. Few of the brunch dishes I have tried were very good too. Has recently doubled in size, inside and out, so no queueing for tables any more.
