Time Out says

There are very few restaurants remaining in London like Battersea’s historic Jack’s Place. A local landmark beloved of locals, Jack’s Place was opened in 1968, the brainchild of ex-boxer and barrowboy Jack Talkington and his wife Rita. The spirit of London lives on in Jack’s Place, family run to this day, guests given the distinct impression of stepping in to a time warp when entering the unassuming building on York Road that Jack’s calls home. Throughout the cosy interior you’ll discover pieces of history, memorabilia collected over the restaurants 40-odd years in business including the ties that Jack himself used to cut off of his too-dressed up customers, insisting that they relax and loosen their collars while they dine. Jack’s daughter Angela and her husband Tanjou now take your order (leaving ties well alone), serving their guests with the restaurant’s trademark continental grill cuisine, focused on the best quality steaks, fresh fish and classic meat dishes.
