The first British outpost of a Turkish chain of coffee shops, Kahve Dünyasi has taken to its large Piccadilly premises like a duck to water. It’s packed much of the time – little wonder, given the winning formula of colourfully wrapped chocolates (boxes are for sale), a wide variety of coffees and milkshakes (many with lashings of whipped cream), plus ice-cream (a mastic-flavoured variety provides a hint of the cafe’s eastern origin), chocolate fondue and cakes, all at prices that are extremely competitive for the area. The cakes look mass-produced (the menu says ‘homemade’), but are tasty enough.
We liked the chocolate caramel cake; alternatives range from chocolate soufflé to carrot. The house speciality of iced turkish coffee is like a grown-up milkshake, strong, but with plenty of coffee ice-cream, milk and chocolate. Amid all this are a few baguettes and mini quiches, but, really, it’s all about the sweet stuff. Waitress service adds a touch of occasion to a low-spend, cheerful treat.

Wonderful coffee/cakes/borak savoury/sweet/chocolates & gifts. Excellent service even though it was very busy.
Don't waste your money! Waited for 20mins to be seated..dense rubber like cake..on second thought dry leather perhaps..another 20mins wait for bills to arrive. When finally paid bills and waited for our change from 20pound note..they disputed with whether we gave 10pound note or 20..they had to look into CCTV cameras..a waitress came in 1/2hour with our change legally due...with no sincere apology.ruined our perfect Sunday afternoon. They should really learn more about customer services in this day in age.
Chocolate, dishes, coffee is amazing... but the service is just rubbish. I was so upset by the arrogant behaviour of the waitress that decided to complaint to the manager. Manager said: "if you have issues with us Cafe Nero is across the road". I have never heard anything like this before in the whole entire UK.
Great place for coffee lovers, chocolate covered Turkish delights are addictive. I'm from US and hope they will open a place in DC soon:) so Starbucks can finally have a real competition.
This place has a lovely cosy, although spacious feel to it. The cakes and macarons are tasty and the price will challenge any of the other cafe's in the area - Beautiful, don't change!!
Thank god for Kahve Dunyasi. Apart from the amazing and exotic array of chocolate & coffee on offer, it's a fun place to hang out in and people watch. Try Borekitas with potato, zesty mint lemonade, and Turkish coffee with mastic for an authentic Turkish experience. Forget comparing it with Starbucks with its predictable muffins and tiresome queues. In Kahve Dunyasi, you'll be served at your table and sit amongst crowds of ridiculously good-looking youths, who people watch, gossip and read each other's coffee cups (again, an authentically Turkish experience.). Glad to finally have a fun place in central London which doesn't revolve around alcohol :) It's not about the decor and location, although it helps. It's about the hospitality and new things on offer to a tired and over priced London coffee scene. Kahve Dunyasi is, in true Turkish style, welcoming.
I recently visited Kahve Dunyasi on the advice of friends, not knowing what to expect , I was pleasantly surprised, the staff were friendly and courteous , the cleanliness of the restaurant would put most of the well known coffee chains to shame. The coffee was excellent and the chocolates to die for. I recommend Kahve Dunyasi to anyone looking for quality at a sensible price.
From first glimpse this shop drew me in, caught my attention. It appeared to be a modern life Charlie Chocolate Factory and boy did this play meet my expectations. I hear nothing but great reviews about it and I myself seriously recommend a visit. The great location, yet great prices! The best things to get are definietly the macaroons, they are to die for - the best I've found yet! Personal favs are rose and apricot!
Great place, great food, gorgeous coffee, plenty of space, and caramel cake it's just a heaven. Shame that it;'s in London only. Definately will pop everytime I will visit London.
If you want a break from the same sort of cafe style places and a great Turkish Coffee in a nice environment then this is a nice place to go... Enjoy...
I just love this place! It's heaven for chocoholic with an amazing selection at a great price. Love the macaroons...you can't beat the rose flavour and I simply adore the packaging. It is now my favourite place in London. Nice and friendly staff and great coffee...try the kalep: it is yummi
The chocolate in this shop is a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y amazing and I'm a self confessed chocoholic. I was also a costumer when it first opened, and understand it was going through some initial teething problems but the shop got busier and busier, esp over Christmas and most of the staff were always friendly and eager to help. They offer great samples by the till too! It's not the place to go for big hearty lunch or dinner but they do great snacks and.... amazing chocolate, coffee, desserts and lighter meals. I, and my entire office, are big fans.
Us Turks introduced coffee to Europe and now to London as well! Combined with great food ,price and Turkish hospitality a place of must for anyone that has visited Turkey and remembers the good food! A little part of Anadolu hospitality on the Piccadilly ! Well done kahve dunyasi!
This place is terrible. My milky coffee was so scolding hot I couldn't taste anything for the rest of the day. The service is also hugely disappointing. It cost me £3.10 for my coffee and it was a massive waste of money. Costa coffee is better than this. This place needs an updated review!
