Wood Green is not where I expect to head for excellent Live music but last night Karousel staged a three-act line up as good as you would hear in any central London club. Very impressed by The Black Feathers, a folk duo with tons of personality. Malory Torr is an attractive 20 year old singer / songwriter with a good voice and engaging stage presence. She is a name to watch out for. The final set was Ralegh Long who has just released a new album on Vinyl. His stripped back set with keyboard and steel guitar was absorbing, but I rather wish I had seen his whole band. I feel there is something special happening there.
The venue is a cafe, serving a vegetarian menu and organic beers. Staff are friendly. The place feels Bohemian and the clientele looks the same. I will certainly return. I loved the setting and the music. A discovery.
