  • Came out for my birthday on a snowy night and had the best experience. The door was locked when we arrived and we were immediately let in and shown to our table. The people who looked after us for the night I presume were the owners as they did so with great charm and personality, knowledge of the food and a non intrusive but attentive style. We had the 7 salad selection in a beautiful flower shaped selection of mini bowls like a pot thali. The salads were great, one of them was amazing walnut and anchovy paste which was great on the delicious bread. One salad looked a bit mushy, but turned out to be delicious green peppers with a really nice flavour. Then came the special which was a sweet potato and chicken tagine which 3 out of four of us ordered. This was amazing, tender chicken, lovely potato, it was clearly freshly made and very tasty. Anyway this was the best place for my 39th birthday and I will definitely be aiming to frequent this place, as a resident from neighbouring peckham.

  • Possibly the best restaurant meal I have ever eaten. We went at a group of 6 that quickly turned into 7 without any bother. We all agreed that the flavours were incredible, the service excellent, we all loved and took advantage of the BYOB, which also made it a very cheap meal. I live in Cornwall but am back in London next weekend and I am taking another group of friends there.

  • I discovered Khamsa through some Algerian friends and since then it's become one of my favorite spots ... The place is cozy and inviting and the owners/managers prepare and serve the food themselves which is a very personable feeling as if you're eating in a typical Algerian home. Ingredients are always fresh (and some even imported from North Africa to preserve the traditional taste of the dishes, as told by Jamal the owner), in addition, they serve also traditional Algerian sweets ! There's a sub-ground floor decorated in Algerian/Berber ambiance which can be great for group reservations, parties and gatherings. It's also a great place to listen to some Rai vibe ! Owners are friendly and take great pride in giving guests the typical North African hospitality - I always enjoy being there !

  • Khamsa must have some of the healthiest, most delicious home-cooked food in London. Luckily it is only a few metres from our house and we love going there for a relaxing meal and chatting with the friendly owners. We regularly recommend it to friends and visitors and everybody loves it without exception. Best to reserve at weekends.

  • If you want to explore the authentic algerian cuisine in a very welcoming and warm atmosphere then this is the place you will need to visit. The chef makes food really taste of where it comes from! The menu is a wonderful playground of tastes and flavours. Khamsa is a rare and special place to discover a whole mouth watering delicious food. I would highly recommend it for those looking for a blend of authentic algerian and berber cuisine
