With South Woodford unexpectedly becoming a bit of a destination for drinking and dining, places like Lizard Lounge should do well – especially with those looking for somewhere serving what sound like adventurous cocktails.
Want proof? The rum fizz comprises white rum, passion fruit, lemonade and asparagus. A black dove is a combo of tequila, yuzu, elderflower, lime, pink grapefruit and black pepper. A sendai is made up of Nikka whiskey, Ruby port, warm mango tea and walnut syrup. There's even a G&T with mint, rosemary and green pea (a purée, we presume?).
There's food too, of an American bent. Expect burgers, hot dogs, wings, nachos, mac and cheese and po boys. New York strip steaks, cobb salads and calamari served with homemade tartar sauce also feature.
