  • We were excited about visiting Lola and Simon for the first time and booked a table for Sunday brunch. On arrival, we were disappointed to meet with abrupt and unwelcoming service, seemingly for being a few minutes late for our booking (most of which were spent waiting in a queue and watching other people, who did not appear to have bookings, being seated) and asking if we could sit at a table by the window. Our brunch dishes were well made (save for underdone poached eggs) but could be easily matched by any of the lovely nearby restaurants, which actually value  their customers. Overall, not a nice start to a relaxing Sunday - we certainly won't be going back.

  • Had lunch here with friends for a celebration. Found the food mediocre and the service not much better. Management were obviously far more interested in making as much monry as possible by adding petty extra charges wherever they could, rather than trying to ensure their customers felt valued and satisfied. A mean spirited little place with a pretentious attitude. Avoid, as there are many other places far more worthy of your custom.

  • A cautionary tale to anyone thinking of booking a party at Lola’s – don’t! The management have unreliable terms and conditions – changing it to suit their convenience at will. After booking a party I had to pay a large deposit which I was assured would only be retained if party’s number reduced significantly without notice. Fortunately, on the day, everyone arrived. Shockingly, as one person arrived unwell and was unable to eat, a portion of my deposit was retained !! We were a large party and overall spent a significant amount, but clearly Lola felt this was not enough! Food-wise, I would not recommend ‘The Big Pukka’ – big it is not! It was mediocre at best – I have had a more satisfying, and better value, cooked breakfast at my local transport cafe! Overall, what seemed as a promising venue turned out to be a disappointment.

  • Service with a frown, at least from the waitress serving our area. The tables still had crumbs scattered noticably. All eggs poached dry and rubbery, making my partner's dish of charred bacon and hard poached eggs particularly unpalatable. Shame, as we were looking forward to this one.

  • Amazing brunch, perfect atmosphere and the staff is always friendly and happy. Go for the pancakes and the Big Puku! They also have a great dinner menu at a good price.

  • Far from one of London's best breakfasts, I'm afraid. The quality of the eggs and sausages was obviously quite poor. Nice place and staff though.
