  • Last week, my daughter and I went to Amici, in Kenington for the first time. We had a very nice Dinner, sitting outside in the restaurant’s large courtyard enjoying the sunshine. It is a heaven of peace right in the centre of London and completely enclosed so very safe. To start with, my daughter had a plate of Spicy Calamaretti. The portion was large for a starter and finger liking tasty. I had 12 oysters (Yes, Amici serves oysters which come from West Mersey in Essex ( they have a great oyster bar on the coast see westmerseaoysterbar.co.uk) As a main course, we both shared a Diavolo Pizza and Veal Saltimbocca. The pizza dough was nice and crispy at the bottom while the veal was perfectly cooked, not dry which is often the case. We could not eat anything else after that so we just enjoyed the sunshine and the wine…. Yes, Amici is also a wine bar with a carefully selected list of wines most of them available by the glass, so we enjoyed a different glass of wine with each of our dishes. On the menu, there is a wine suggested to accompany each dish which is helpful. We shall certainly be back to Amici, a good Italian neighbourhood restaurant reasonably priced

  • On Saturday 14 July 2012 at around 19:30 to 20:30, I came all the way from North London to have a Burger at Tinsel Town Bayswater restaurant, but was refused by the Manager in a very unprofessional manner, I was belittled in front of his members of staff and customers. I'm afraid this will be the last time I ever go or recommend this restaurant to anyone, my work colleagues where shock to hear my experience, and on my birthday. Sometimes I feel this was racially motivated or you manager seriously needs to be removed or to go on Intensive Management Training, I mean you get better service in Mc Donalds. He could of easily ask me to wait for a available table and I would of done so, but this did not happen, Also the fact there were two empty group table available, I would of just sat down and eaten my burger quickly left a tip and go. I pointed out the two available Tables but was told that I could not use them because of politics? What did they mean by politics? did they have an issue with serving me?

  • Last night I went to a restaurant in Streatham called K&S Reign. When I was heading there I thought it was on Streatham Hill. However the location is by Streatham common, a part of Streatham have not really ventured to. Have to sat I have very suprised. Had a great evening. The food was amazing, great mix of flavours. The music had a bit of everything and after a certain time changed to more bar music. Intended to just have dinner there, ended up staying for more drinks and shisha. Lovely evening out, really good value, will be going again.

  • A fabulous new restaurant opened in Brixton Market last saturday. It is called Tapas Pa' Ti, 21 Market Row, SW9 8LB. This has totally blown all my previous disappointing experiences (tiny dishes with little food for too much money) of tapas in this Country. For £11 you can have a choice of 2 tapas dishes from the meat, fish or veggie choices, it includes extras and a glass of Sangria. Portions are huge covering a dinner plate. ABSOLUTE BARGAIN & TASTES FABULOUS. There are numerous other things on the menu and the Spanish breakfast at £6 would set anyone up for the day. Freshly cooked, very tasty with a really nice decor you just want to hang out in. The coffee is good too. If a place deserves to do well this one does ... go check it out people, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to return with some more friends and sample the rest of the menu, and the wine list!!

  • A group of us went to Zain's Grill Restaurant in Mile end; we had been there before while we were students at QMW University, it was surprising to see that what was a pub had been converted to a Restaurant and Grill house that does not serve alcohol at all. We were reluctant to dine without drinking but the waiter convinced us to try the food and be kind to our livers for the evening. WHAT A PLESANT SURPRISE, We were spoilt for choice, the menu had dishes like grilled Quails to Grilled Sea bass and Lamb Shank. The staff were extremely helpful in deciding what to eat. We ordered some Non Alcoholic Mocktails which were really very good. One of my friends had to have her regular "chicken Korie" with rice and Nan which she described as being "one of the best meals ever" I ordered Salmon Gujouns for starters, Grilled Sea bass with Couscous, the food was sensational and the portions very generous, I was too full to have any dessert. My other two friends were just as pleased with their meals. The owner of the restaurant spoke with us and we learnt that Zain's is named after his son who is only six years old; it’s a family run restaurant. I must say that the service was very warm and friendly and a menu so vast I shall be going back to try some other dishes, no doubt my friends will also be going. It is hard to say if Zain's in an Indian restaurant or Grill restaurant or a Steak House; whatever it is the food and service is excellent and I would recommend anyone to try, its near Mile End Station (out the station and walk towards the right towards Bow).

  • As a managing director of as leading hotel and restaurant in the lake district and also an ex corporate senior manager of senior hotels hyatt in middle east, Princess hotels in Bermuda and 12 happy years at the Savoy it was refreshing to have booked and dined in a memorable restaurant, Moti Mahal in Covent Garden. We had the pleasure of booking a table on Friday 23rd March which was just going to be a normal night out but turned into a truly exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The level of service is attentive but not rushed, the product knowledge from the staff shows their passion for their job and we were able to look in to see the chefs preparing their exquisite dishes. We both had two of their set menus, mine being on the meat and fish selection and my wife with the vegetarian each accompanied by fine wines. The different course that came matched and exceeded each other, it was very hard to pick which one we enjoyed most as they were all delectable. We were able to interact with each other’s set menus and it certainly became a banquet. With all the hotels I have worked at top outlets of the Asian varieties and I must say that this certainly is up there with them whereabouts I would say they are world innovators and leaders in a very highly competitive London restaurant market where people are demanding and expect exceptional service. I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.
