Well I can't vouch for any of the timeout list so I thought I'd post my own favourites. Let me know if there are any that do better. Best Udon - Koya Best Ramen - Nagomi & Cocoro Best Pho - Mien Tay Best Mee goreng - Tukdin Best Daxiaomien - Noodle Bar

Ralphation is right - Wagamama is not only flavourless and not at all authentic, but hideously overpriced. Maybe I`ve been spoilt living in Tokyo for 16 years but this washing-up water is not ramen soup. Don`t go there and encourage them to open even more outlets of this appalling chain!

Wagamama is vile. It is to Asian food what McDonald's is to American food. Actually, that's not fair. At least McDonald's is A) American and B) cheap.

I agree with DonDon! Hare & Tortoise serves one of the best Curry Laksa in the central London area.... I normally go to the one in Brunswick Center!

I highly recommend Thanh Binh in Camden Town! It is run by a Vietnamese family who have been in the business for almost 10 years. The place is small and cozy, the food is delicious. My favorite dish is the Pho which is made with real beef/chicken stock and good quality ingredients. It's definitely my favorite Vietnamese in London! And trust me when I say this, I have tried more than 30 other places before...

I'm amazed that Pho has not been included on the list. It is THE most authentic taste of Vietnam and uses the freshest, best quality ingredients, miles better than any of the other restaurants listed above especially Song Que who's pho is appalling in tatse and quality of beef.

Wagamama is good, but it's something of a common-sense choice - if you're familiar with London and like asian noodles chances are you know about it anyway. Plus it's not really a London thing, they have Wagamamas everywhere.

How can you have this list and not include Wagamama?

Fujiyama is horrible! You are better off taking a short walk around the corner, Ichiban sushi/noodle bar rocks.

Mmmmh, not too sure about Fujiyama, surly service, disgusting noodles especially when compared to Wagamama, and not even able to wipe table before serving, yuck, yuck, yuck!

I say Hare & Tortoise, a Japanese/Chinese restaurant that serves up dishes such as sashimi or sushi and udon to roast duck on rice and other popular chinese/orient dishes at really, really reasonable prices. And there are many a plenty with where they are located from bloomsbury and south kensington to ealing broadway. Fantastic

Fujiyama in Brixton should be featured here too. People line up to get a table in this south London japanese cafe.
