What would you drink out of a horn cup? No, it’s not a euphemism. In Paraguay, they fill theirs with a cold infusion made from the caffeinated plant – yerba mate. Not dissimilar to a very strongly brewed green tea, tereré is sucked through a silver straw with a filter at the bottom. If you fancy a taste, then head down to Brick Lane’s new Paraguayan café – Morena Bakery. They’re also selling Latin American-inspired sweet treats such as chocolate-dipped biscuits sandwiched with caramel-like dulce de leche (alfajores), or tangy tropical fruit tarts and cakes. Fill your boots.

honestly the best cakes i've ever had. all of their items are made on the premises and soooooooooooooooooo good.
Really delicious bakery, filled with South American treats. We couldn't decide as there were so many delicious looking thingsm and the owner/baker kindly gave us tiny tastes from almost every cake and was really lovely to talk to. Had an absolutely gorgeous dulce de leche carrot cake - you can also buy the dulce de leche in big jars on the counter. Definitely detour off Brick Lane for these lovely cakes.
