  • Funny eh I took a photo of an 1890s looking topless girl hanging on the wall of Mouse and Delotz and put it on my website coz i do and write blues Americana and thought it added atmosphere - see here - www.midnightridermusic.com

  • I LOVE this place! Their coffee is better than any I've tasted in London, the cakes are original, fresh and delicious, and the sandwiches are flawless with exceptional fresh bread and fillings. But aside from this, the owners have somehow managed to reinvigorate an area of Dalston that had lost all sense of community. You can see the work they've put in and nothing is overlooked. I spend an awful lot of time in Mouse and Delotz and the staff are friendly, fun and attentive (even helping me to a table when I broke my foot!). I'm a very satisfied regular!

  • Staff is so rude... So disappointing as I just moved to the area and that is my local cafe... I think they should reconsider hiring people for they skills or experience and not they 'hipster coolness'....

  • Super cute cafe tucked away down a side street. Haven't had any food yet but it always looks good when it goes by. Can definitely say the coffee is delicious though! As for the staff, not sure what everyone is going on about, they've always been perfectly polite to me. All in all a nice little neighbourhood place, good for curling up with a book or meeting with a mate.

  • Victoria, it's a little bizzare to respond to feedback this way. I'm not angry, I just found your place disappointing on the three occasions I have been. It's really simple: the service I have had has been awful. I'm not sure it matters because you clearly have plenty of loyal fans. Maybe I have just had bad luck and come on bad days and if so you don't really have a problem, you just have one less customer. I can't think how meeting you would do anything other than be intensely awkward, but as I said to the Square Meal guy I'll come in again some time and if I am pleasantly surprised I'll update my reviews to say so. Good luck, I hope it keeps getting better.

  • Love it here. Food is thought about and delicious. Cakes are handmade and bloomin' gorgeous. It's little and very nicely done out. Small but has a big heart. Has made massive improvements to an area that needed it. Catch a supper club there if you can! Tickets sell out fast. This place deserves plenty of kudos and custom.

  • Hi Dominic, Once again we 're really sorry that you had such a bad experience. As we said to Square meal (your other review) we would love to meet you to hear your feedback and to offer you free lunch. It is a shame that you don't want to meet Nadya and I. We have been going now for two years, we have built a good name because we care about our customers and our staff. As we are in the cafe everyday (working in cafe twice a week), we are very surprised that you had such a bad experience. Nadya and I bake all the cakes and have done so since the start, even though I have two very young children. Our menu is not simple but includes breakfast, made to order salads and sandwiches plus our choice of 10 sweet things. It saddens us that you are so angry and this is why we would love to put things right and to meet you. xxx

  • It ought to be nice but the service is just awful. I live opposite so went soon after the opened. Terrible service - slow, chaotic - but I let it pass because, well, they had just opened. Teething trouble. Still painting the back room. Went back a few months later, the service was still grim. Long, long wait for a coffee despite the place being tiny and hardly busy. Tried again recently and, no better. It turns out they set their own standard when they opened and have not managed to better it. Three coffees arrived, eventually, in slow succession. Several staff faffing and looking harrassed even though they only had about ten customers in the place (which is tiny, so that's quite a lot, but one person should be able handle it easily and two or three is way more than enough). I can only conclude that these people simply have no idea how to run a cafe, and never go to anyone else's, because anyone who has been a customer knows at least the basic things about what constitutes decent service. Such as bringing everyone's coffee at roughly the same time. So, cute interior but relentlessly disappointing. Which is a shame because it would be lovely to have decent cafe to wander across the road to.

  • I go here often and the staff are always lovely. The cakes are all homemade and to die for, especially the courgette cake!! A truely lovely coffee shop.

  • Wonderful cafe - the coffee is to die for - best in London except for Fred and Fran just up the road in Stokey.
