What a wonderful new-found treasure. It won't be long before we return to the recently opened Tavern. Everything from the decoration to the friendly and helpful service and the brilliant food from a very talented young chef was spot on. For lunch we enjoyed oysters, charcuterie salad, ray wing and grey mullet - all very thoughtfully prepared and served. Can't wait to try other toothsome delights from the superb menu.

I had a diffent experience to the previous reviews. Had a lovely meal there last week, good service and delicious food (oysters followed by the fish and chips) and loved the decor. I would go back.

I fail to see such negativity.. this adventurous and beautiful place has just opened it's doors to a swarming public.. perfect yet, maybe not.. my experience was not perfect but was so keen to see such amazing food and wines on offer.. my oysters followed by hare with fennel were amazing.. I look forward to this place going from strength to strength..

marvellous new restaurant in elegant Edwardian corner site arranged over two floors.Hearty modern British cooking with innovative seasonal combinations.Charming, knowledgeable staff .Carefully chosen, imaginatively displayed wine list. The roast suckling pig spit roasted over a wood fire and slow roasted lamb with roasted beetroots were a delight. The Dorset crab starter was a huge helping of outstanding shellfish.Book a table before it becomes too popular!!
