Angie

(from my husband) I just went there with my wife, literally back as we live in Kentish Town and although my previous experience there wasn't so good as they tried to charge me 15% tip, I decided to try it again as the food is still of a good standard. The food was good, we both went for something on their black board and I was happy with the octopus salad. However, my wife asked for two small glasses of wine and we haven't noticed they were big glasses while talking. At the end, while paying, I realized they were considered as big glasses and thus charged almost 60£ for octopus salad, basic ravioli, a coffee ice cream and a bottle of sparkling water. Albeit the wine, things were fine, but I somehow felt robbed to pay that amount of money for something good, but also ordinary, nothing extraordinary. So if you want a good tip, go to the Oxford Pub, located just in front and you would eat the same quality, if not better, for far less and people will not try to overcharged you for a quite ordinary meal. After being robbed there twice, it is definitely a no-return.

I have been to Pane Vino quite a few times, and I can say that I have sampled most dishes from the menu. Very good genuine Southern Italian food (great products, very well prepared, and with passion!). Some interesting wines too (but a bit pricey). In my humble opinion, it is quite simply the best Italian in London for that price.

We ate here last night and it was just as good as we remembered from a couple of years ago. It is unpretentious with friendly and knowledgeable service and some great food especially the generous portions of seafood linguine. Lovely mirto liqueur afterwards. Altogether a very enjoyable evening - we will return soon.

absolutely devastatingly awful. very bad food, awful atmosphere. the above time out review should be removed.

Great food and great wine. Lacked a little atmosphere, but the service was good. Also found it just slightly too expensive for the type of dish served, about £16.00 for a special. Other mains varied from £10 to £20.
