Aanya Wine Lounge

Although Aanya is a wine bar not a restaurant, it deserves inclusion here for the impressive selection of North Indian snack food; it's the sort of fare you might find at Mumbai's smart cocktail parties. Reshmi (‘silken') chicken kebab and lamb chops were tender and vibrantly spiced, while paneer parcels were expertly made filo pastry bags stuffed with spiced cheese. We also liked the bread-based canapés that come topped with sweetcorn and peppers, but the succulent tandoori prawns were somewhat overwhelmed by their coriander, mint and chilli marinade. The menu can seem short and repetitive if you're planning on eating a full meal, but on our visits Aanya has always been packed with beautiful young people having a good time, which goes a long way to making up for its limitations as a destination dining venue.
