Al Parco
Brightly lit and sparsely occupied on our visit, Al Parco is a restaurant that puts some artistry into pizza production. The varieties we tried were delicious, and looked fantastic. Calzone with vine tomatoes and salami was a particular highlight: carefully shaped, it wasn't the usual unsightly blob common in pizzerias. Elsewhere, huge salads were fine enough, but own-made tiramisu was heavenly. Tactical eaters may want to go easy on the mains. The restaurant itself has a cheery Italian vibe which never feels put on. Staff are attentive and chummy (they kindly didn't laugh when we mispronounced some of the pizza names). It may be small and a little far from the tube, but Al Parco is a real charmer. Source: Time Out Cheap Eats in London Guide 2007
