I feeeeel like this place should be rated higher than 3* however my friend and I went there solely to try their Yorkshire pudding menus (3 savoury and 3 sweet - yes that is a lotta Yorkies!) and although we came away stuffed to the brim we weren't wow'd.

To add to the let down on flavour, the staff were quite hoity toity and very pushy trying to get us to order additional wine and sides continuously throughout the meal. The service was also very slow with a 20 minute wait between finishing our savoury Yorkshires and getting our sweet ones.

The savoury Yorkshires were definitely my favourite; smoked salmon, beef with horseradish and truffled Brie. The Yorkshires for the mains were nice and fluffy although served on a small wooden board which although pretty made it really hard to eat. My fav by far was the Brie and truffle which was packed full of flavour. The beef was a bit chewy and tasted like old school dinners however the horseradish it was served with had a real punch. The smoked salmon was also good but my Yorkshire was a bit crispy.

Although we were stuffed after the mains we still had a long awkward wait in a rather quiet restaurant lacking atmosphere. When they came they were much smaller (not a problem but meant they were too crispy and hard to cut). The fillings were pretty boring - cream with jam and a bland custard with some banana. My favourite was the caramel and chocolate but there was sooo much it overpowered it and made it so sickly.

Presentation for all 6 was lovely and the idea is awesome but overall it was a bit of a let down!

We had one aim - to taste and devout the special Yorkshire pudding specials. On a closer inspection of the savoury Yorkshire pud menu it turned out that we weren't all that excited on what was on offer. So instead we each got a main dish from the standard menu. The service was incredibly slow but eventually the burger, which I asked for to be cooked medium, arrived well done. Fairly tasteless meat and accompanied with averagely fried chips - no, I was not impressed given that it was fairly pricey. Yes, I could be paying for the posh interior but the service did not match up to that posh standard (the waiters would rather place the table for breakfast than serve us). We did end up ordering the Yorkshire pud puddings - the strawberries with cream and the banana with custard fillings tasted fine but it was bizarre to taste the buttery Yorkshire pudding. The chocolate pudding was not great - the gritty chocolate did not leave a pleasant flavour.
