With its ceiling fans and green wooden furniture, Hudson's smacks of continental cool. The menu lists international cuisine, leading to some difficult decisions: do you plump for the gooey pleasures of deep-fried Camembert, or the tangy spice of Moroccan potato cakes? The menu is revised on a regular basis, although certain dishes are always on offer. The presentation of meals is excellent mixed fish platter arrived on a bed of artichoke spears with a rich orange dollop of sweet potato mash while a decent selection of wines and quality lagers are an apt primer for a night out on Putney High Street. In sum you can expect well-cooked food in a friendly, unpretentious environment.
