London's best review, food and drink news
On Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, this sweet, homely neighbourhood tratt slashes its already reasonable food prices by half. But what astonishes more at these prices, at any rate is that L'Antipasto's Italian staples are authentic, fresh and served with easy charm by a team of experienced waiters. Among our tried and trusted faves are the beautifully creamy fusilli a la gorgonzola, the polenta with wild mushroom starter, and the simple but hugely effective spaghetti al pesto. The specials board is also worthy of attention, with passing pleasures such as grilled flat mushrooms with garlic and fresh chilli, and two roast baby chickens with potatoes and green beans. Battersea locals are fully aware of their good fortune L'Antipasto is permanently busy.
