London's best review, food and drink news
This bright and airy fish restaurant is inspired by the sort of culinary establishments that you'd find on the Black Sea in Georgia that's where the owners come from and it's always packed to the rafters. A good selection of fish that's fresh from Billingsgate is cooked with simplicity and confidence by a chef comfortable with such a range of produce. A complimentary fish soup was light and tasty, sea bass was soft and subtle, and the wild salmon steaks were unfatty and quite simply delicious. Also deservedly popular is Lighthouse's nod to prole food: good old-fashioned battered fish and chips. There are some great two course meal deals to be had which make this restaurant very reasonable, but don't expect a quick turnaround: service, when it comes, is friendly enough, though we had to do a lot of arm-waving.
