Sea Cow is one of the few chippies that offers organic options (salmon, for instance). This Clapham branch remains somewhat in the shadow of the original restaurant in East Dulwich, but appears to be popular nonetheless (there's also a branch in Fulham). Its über-trendy minimal decor is a big hit with Clapham's sometimes almost painfully fashion-conscious twentysomethings, who banter with the fun, friendly staff. The menu is short but to the point – as it should be. Fish, fresh from Billingsgate Market, is displayed like pieces of art in the wet counter. Our fried cod came in slightly soggy batter, but the minted mushy peas were so flavourful we could have eaten them on their own. Variations include crab cakes, which are served with a sharp lime mayonnaise.
