We're trying to work out what C&R stands for. Clean & Respectable? Curry & Roti? The unprepossessing exterior of this plain, shopfronted Westbourne Grove newcomer belies the interior with its moody lighting, clothed tables, tall blond chairs and folded napkins. Best of our orders was a generous serving of Singaporean-style spicy chilli crab, which was gloriously gloopy, sticky, spicy and sweet. Other dishes paled in comparison: flat roti bread served with a good curry sauce was excessively oily and lamb satays had flavour aplenty but were tough. Still, we'll be back for that crab, with plenty of C&R's impressively fluffy coconut rice on the side. Ah, that's what it means: Crab & Rice.
